February 10, 2026 – Ore Energy announced the successful completion of its 100-hour iron-air long-duration energy storage pilot at EDF Lab les Renardières in France under the EU’s StoRIES programme.
Ore Energy has successfully concluded a grid-connected pilot of its 100-hour iron-air long-duration energy storage (LDES) system at EDF R&D Laboratories in Écuelles, France, demonstrating multi-day storage performance in a real utility environment. Supported by the EU’s Storage Research Infrastructure Eco-System (StoRIES) programme, the modular system operated under real-world grid conditions for several months, collecting operational data on charge/discharge behavior and grid integration. The pilot reinforces the technology’s potential to deliver cost-effective renewable balancing over up to four days using iron, air, and water, and contributes to Europe’s long-duration storage knowledge base.
