Ore Energy has raised $43 million (€38 million) in Series A funding, led by Plural and HV, to accelerate the commercial scale-up of its iron-air battery technology for long-duration energy storage.
Designed to store renewable energy for up to 100 hours, Ore Energy’s batteries use abundant materials including iron, water and air and are built around a fully European supply chain. The technology is intended to address one of the key challenges of renewable power systems: storing excess wind and solar energy for multiple days and supplying it back to the grid when generation is low.
The new funding will support Ore Energy’s transition from proven technology to commercial-scale deployment, helping position multi-day energy storage as a core part of Europe’s future grid infrastructure. Read more here.
